Summer School 2016

 

  PRACTICAL INFORMATION:

 

Organization: The course is jointly organized by the International Centre fro Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) through the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (IAMZ) and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) through the EU EcoAqua project.

 

Location: All Summer School’s sessions will be held at the Scientific and Technological Marine Park of the University of Las Palmas of Gran Canaria (ULPGC), Taliarte, Gran Canaria, Spain.

 

Registration: Registration will remain open until the 12th of April 2016

- Together with the application form please submit a detailed curriculum vitae, stating degree, diplomas, experience, professional activities, language knowledge and a letter of interest for applying to the course. Copies of certificates should be enclosed with the application. Application can be returned by email to iamz@iamz.ciheam.org or sent to the address indicated in the general information section below.

 

Registration fees: The fees include tuition, materials, coffee/tea, transfers and a social dinner.

Scholarships and eligibility :

  • Candidates from CIHEAM member countries (Albania, Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey) may apply for scholarships covering registration fees, and for scholarships covering the cost of travel and full board accommodation during the course. CIHEAM scholarships applications are part of the application form and should be sent to CIHEAM as indicated above.
  • Young researchers from Outermost Regions and Overseas Countries and Territories may apply for scholarships from the EcoAqua project supported by the European Commission. EcoAqua scholarships are only available for attendants from Europeans Overseas Regions, Countries or Territories and will cover course fees and travel costs. EcoAqua scholarship applications should include a resumed CV (three page maximum), a letter of interest and a letter of reference. Applications should be sent by email to: gcourtois@fpct.ulpgc.es
  • Candidates from other countries who require financial support should apply directly to other national or international institutions.

 

Insurance: It is compulsory for participants to have medical insurance valid for Spain. Proof of insurance cover must be given at the beginning of the course. Those who wish may participate in a collective insurance policy taken out by the Organization, upon payment of the stipulated sum.

  

  GENERAL INFORMATION:

 Accommodation: rooms are available at the university residence (20,30€/night including breakfast and dinner). Please book the required number of nights through your registration to ensure reservation.

Transport: Transfer between the University residence and the Scientific and Technological Marine Park will be provided during the Course dates.

 

Structure: Lectures will be given during morning sessions and the afternoon sessions will focus on practical aspects. This intensive professional course is taught in English and has an academic value of 3.5 ECTS. Complete programme available here.
