MAC project PLASMAR kick of in March 2017

In the INTERREG framework, project proposal submitted by EcoAqua and partners form Canarias, Madeira and Azores was accepted for funding. Project PLASMAR that deals with Maritime Spatial Planning is expected to kick off in the March 2017.

Plasmar will deal with the development of the methodologies and establishment of the basis for Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) in order to facilitate implementation of the MSP Directive 2014/89/EU taking in consideration the biogeographic characteristics of the Macaronesian Region. The project will initiate the  process of the MSP, applying robust scientific methodologies for the development of the maritime activities in balance with the marine environment, including pilot zoning exercise.
