On 15 October, the third International Learning Event (ILE#3) of the European project CAPonLITTER took place, an open access webinar organised by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the entity leading this project in Croatia.
Latin American & Caribbean Aquaculture 2019
Marisol Izquierdo, director of the IU-Ecoaqua, today inaugurated the LLACQUA19, is the 2019 Annual meeting of the Latin American & Caribbean Chapter of World Aqauaculture Society, held in San José, Costa Rica.
In his inaugural lecture entitled "Can aquaculture meet the demand increased for 'omega-3' in the World?" Izquierdo professor stressed the importance of these fats for human health and for the production animal, reviewing current productions 'omega-3' by fisheries and aquaculture and developing future strategies to meet the global needs of 'omega-3'.
CEA 2019
IU-ECOAQUA attended the Ecuadorian Aquaculture Congress (CEA), a technical-scientific event that has been held periodically since 1992 to disseminate knowledge and experiences of the academic and private sector in the field of aquaculture, mainly shrimp farming.

Hanlin Xu in EAS Student Spotlight Award 2019
Hanlin Xu was one of the three students running for the Student Spotlight Award 2019 at AE19BER.
His work carried out within the Performfish project was about new diets for sea bream juveniles.
